The Russian government has approved a list of regions where bans or restrictions on cryptocurrency mining will be in effect from January 1, 2025 to March 15, 2031 .
The decision is related to the overload of energy systems and the need to redistribute resources. These regions are known for their low electricity rates, which previously attracted miners.
